How to use the P300? Learn Screenwriting from Ricky Lee – Manila Newsletter
Legendary screenwriter to hold two storytelling masterclasses next week
With more than 70 trophies from several winning organizations and more than 180 film scripts to his name, Ricardo Lee, or Ricky Lee as he is commonly known, is a dominant figure in the Filipino film industry.
Lee, the man who contributed a quarter of the scripts for Filipino cinema’s second golden age, is known for ceremoniously leading scriptwriting workshops. He opens his family library to strangers eager to learn from him every Sunday and, of course, teaches at formal writing events.
Due to the pandemic, however, face-to-face classes are not possible. But that doesn’t mean the multi-award winning screenwriter will stop educating the new batch of filmmakers and writers. In fact, Lee has upcoming storytelling masterclasses, which will be held via Zoom on August 9 and 15, titled Mga Tao to mga Tauhan (People and characters).
