Award-winning actor’s scriptwriting debut
A man from Ystalyfera celebrates after learning that his script for a short film is due to air on the BBC next week.
Musician Idge Logan, 38, entered the screenwriting competition through production company It’s My Shout and was surprised to learn that his short film “Bilingual Bank Job” had been selected for the production.
“It was a huge shock,” said Idge, singer and guitarist for ‘This River’.
“I have written children’s novels in the past but this was my first screenplay, I was surprised to hear the short story I had won.”
Once production began, Idge was given the opportunity to play a cameo role, which led to him winning the title of Supporting Actor at an awards night at the Millennium Center in Cardiff, the last month.
“This is My Shout has a premiere and awards night every year, it was a big event that Rob Brydon attended, and to top it off I won the award for best supporting actor,” he said. said Idge, who now lives in Port Tennant, Swansea. .
It’s My Shout Productions produces short films and each year up to 30 of these short films are produced for BBC Wales, S4C, UK Film Council and the Arts Council of Wales.
